As part of the Agricultural Statistics Modernisation Program, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has stopped conducting their 5 yearly agricultural census and annual agricultural surveys. They are now transitioning to using alternative data sources and methods to produce agricultural statistics. As a result of this transition, some data gaps have emerged. The ABS is currently not updating Water Use on Australian Farms or Gross Value of Irrigated Agricultural Production due to the difficulty in replacing the survey data.
We are seeking feedback to understand who uses these statistics and for what purpose. We will use the results and feedback from this survey to inform the future production of these statistics.
