Share your feedback on segregation conditions in approved arrangement class 3.2.

We are reviewing the approved arrangement for class 3.2 imported pig meat processing. The review focusses on:

  • current requirements for segregating cooked and uncooked pig meat

  • how pig meat waste is managed in processing facilities.

As part of this review, we have developed an issues paper. The paper recommends that import conditions focus on critical control points, including:

  • physical segregation of cooked and uncooked pig meat

  • managing the movement of product and staff within processing facilities

  • incorporating biosecurity controls into waste management.

We invite industry members and people involved in importing pig meat to review the issues paper and share your feedback. Your input will help us ensure that approved arrangements remain clear, practical, and effective.
