Thank you for your feedback on the draft National Agricultural Traceability Strategy: Implementation Plan 2023 to 2028. Public consultation is now closed.
Your feedback on the draft of the first 5-year Implementation Plan will help us finalise the plan, ahead of its expected release in mid to late 2024.
The Implementation Plan will help us set the right high-level key activities to address the priority areas for action outlined in the National Agricultural Traceability Strategy 2023 to 2033. It will guide the monitoring and evaluation approach through the benefits framework from the strategy, to measure progress and demonstrate the 10-year strategy has met its goals.

National Agricultural Traceability Strategy 2023 to 2033 – past consultation
Development of the National Agricultural Traceability Strategy 2023 to 2033 kicked off in April 2022 with the National Agricultural Traceability Summit. A draft developed through workshops and co-design was the subject of discussions at the October 2022 Australian Agricultural Traceability Alliance Forum.
Following that forum, we asked for your feedback on the draft 10-year strategy (consultation from October - November 2022), focussing on the fundamentals including the purpose, scope, vision, mission and objectives.
Agriculture Ministers endorsed the National Agricultural Traceability Strategy 2023 to 2033 in May 2023 and it was launched in July 2023.
What happens next
The industry-led Australian Agricultural Traceability Governance Group is overseeing the strategy's implementation.
The associated draft 5-year Implementation Plan is expected to be finalised by late-2024.
