Public consultation of the biosecurity import risk analysis on live sturgeon is closed. The final report with the recommended biosecurity measures has been released.

What happens next

Before an import permit application to import live sturgeon and their reproductive material for aquaculture purposes can be considered, several activities need to be completed and the final import conditions published on the Australian Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) webpage. It is expected to take several years to complete these activities.
