Share your feedback on the draft Imported New Vehicle Policy.

We have developed a draft policy to improve how biosecurity risks are identified and managed for imported new vehicles. The policy aims to:

  • clearly define roles and responsibilities across the new vehicle import pathway

  • clarify expectations for vehicle cleanliness and provide guidance on meeting biosecurity requirements

  • recognise manufacturers and supply chains that reduce contamination risks through reduced regulatory intervention

  • support fair and sustainable funding for biosecurity activity by ensuring appropriate cost recovery arrangements.

We invite industry members to provide feedback on the draft policy. Your feedback will help to ensure the policy is practical and supports effective biosecurity risk management.
