We sought feedback from you about new technologies and regulatory requirements relating to monitoring fumigations.

We invited feedback from people across the biosecurity industry to have their say.

This included:

  • fumigators and fumigation companies

  • importers, exporters and freight forwarders

  • logistics companies

  • customs brokers

  • technology developers or device manufacturers

  • government officers.

You gave feedback through:

  • face-to-face information sessions held around Australia

  • virtual meetings

  • an online survey.

Responses came from a range of different stakeholders across the biosecurity industry.

Meetings

73 shared their feedback at our ‘Methyl Bromide and other biosecurity treatment updates’ information sessions in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney in April 2025.

What happens next

We will review and consider your feedback. We will use it to help shape regulatory requirements for monitoring biosecurity fumigations.

We will release a final report on the findings of this survey in July 2025.
