Improving and streamlining Australia’s export controls

We invite you to submit feedback on proposed amendments to the Export Control Tariff Rate Quota Rules.

The Tariff Rate Quota Rules include:

  • Export Control (Tariff Rate Quotas—Feed Grain Export to Indonesia) Rules 2021

  • Export Control (Tariff Rate Quotas—General) Rules 2021

  • Export Control (Tariff Rate Quotas—Sheepmeat and Goatmeat Export to the European Union and United Kingdom) Rules 2021.

The Export Control Act 2020 and Export Control Rules 2021 (the Rules) came into effect in March 2021, replacing more than 20 Acts and 40 legislative instruments. The Act and Rules form the over-arching legislative framework for the regulation of exported goods from Australia. They underpin our reputation as a supplier of safe and reliable food and other products.

We continually review the Rules to ensure the framework remains modern, fit-for-purpose and meets the needs of exporters.

Your feedback will help to ensure the Rules continue to meet the needs of Australian exporters and support the effective export of our agricultural goods.
