Improving and streamlining Australia’s export controls

We invite you to provide feedback on proposed amendments to the Export Control (Wood and Woodchips) Rules 2021 (Wood Rules).

The Export Control Act 2020 and Export Control Rules 2021 (the Rules) came into effect in March 2021, replacing more than 20 Acts and 40 legislative instruments. The Act and Rules form the over-arching legislative framework for the regulation of exported goods from Australia. They underpin our reputation as a supplier of safe and reliable food and other products.

We routinely review the Rules to ensure the framework remains modern, fit-for-purpose, and meets the needs of exporters.

Your feedback will help to ensure the Wood Rules continue to support the effective export of Australian agricultural goods and exporter needs.
