support improved fumigation and biosecurity treatment requirements
ensure class conditions and standards remain fit for purpose.
We intend torelease the final class 12.4 Ethyl formate fumigation conditions (version 1.0) on the department’s website, from 21 July 2026.
The class 4.6 Fumigation site conditions (version 6.0) and class 4.7 Secure unpack for treatment of seasonal biosecurity hitchhiker pests conditions (version 3.0) will be released on the department’s website, from August 2026.
A department-initiated variation under section 413 of the Biosecurity Act 2015 will facilitate the inclusion of the updated class 4.6 and 4.7 conditions for existing holders of class 4.6 and/or class 4.7 approved arrangements. Biosecurity industry participants will not need to submit an application or take any other action for this variation to take place.
