We sought feedback from stakeholders about the review of the Accredited Grain Surveyor Assurance (AGSA) scheme.
We invited accredited marine surveyors and industry members to share their views on:
how the AGSA scheme was operating
the standard for empty bulk vessel surveys
how conflicts of interest are managed under the AGSA scheme.
You gave feedback through this online survey and written submissions via email to the department.
We received 15 responses through our survey.
We received feedback from marine surveyors, industry representatives and authorised officers. Feedback identified opportunities to improve:
conflict of interest management
role clarity between accredited marine surveyors and bulk vessel authorised officers
processes outlined in the standard for empty bulk vessel surveys.
We will review and consider your feedback. It will be used to help shape the future operation of the scheme, including updating the Standard and management of conflicts of interest.
We will publish a summary of responses and next steps by Wednesday 8 July 2026.
