Share your feedback on the proposed mandatory Winegrape Purchases Code of Conduct.
The Australian Government is developing a mandatory Winegrape Purchases Code of Conduct (mandatory Code) in response to Dr Craig Emerson’s Review of regulatory options for the wine and grape sector.
The mandatory Code aims to:
improve transparency, fairness and confidence in doing business between winegrape growers and winemakers
support clearer contracting arrangements
strengthen dispute resolution processes.
We are seeking feedback on the Exposure Draft of the Winegrape Purchases Code of Conduct (the Exposure Draft).
The Exposure Draft has been developed based on advice from industry stakeholders and the Winegrape Purchases Code of Conduct Advisory Group. While it reflects many elements of the current voluntary Code, it also includes new provisions based on recommendations from the Emerson Review.
We invite stakeholders from the wine and grape sector to share feedback on the Exposure Draft.
Your feedback will help shape the final mandatory Code and ensure the Code is practical, effective and meets the needs of Australia’s wine sector.
