We are developing a third party assurance scheme to support the Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS).

ESCAS ensures Australian livestock—exported for feeder and slaughter purposes—are transported, handled and slaughtered humanely. It aims to maintain animal welfare and support trade.

We asked for your feedback on the options outlined in a consultation regulation impact statement (RIS).

Submissions closed on 17 January 2020.

We also sought feedback through meetings with industry.
