Consultation has concluded

Consultation submissions are now closed.

We will now consider all comments in preparing the final risk analysis.

About this risk analysis

We are conducting a risk analysis for commercially produced fresh dragon fruit (Hylocereus spp.) from Indonesia.

This risk analysis will be conducted in 3 steps:

  1. Review current scientific information and prepare a draft risk analysis proposing risk management measures.
  2. Release the draft risk analysis for public comment.
  3. Consider feedback in preparing the final risk analysis, to be published on our website before the end of 2018.

You can read the draft risk analysis. The draft risk analysis outlines the identified biosecurity risks, associated with importing fresh dragon fruit from Indonesia, and proposed risk management measures.

Submissions on the draft risk analysis closed on 19 March 2018.

This risk analysis is funded under the Australian Government’s Agricultural Competitiveness White Paper and is one way we are strengthening biosecurity surveillance and analysis.
