Proposed projects for Water Efficiency Program

The Water Efficiency Program provides funding of $1.5 billion:

  • for eligible water rights holders in the Murray-Darling Basin
  • to transfer water to the Commonwealth under a contract to do efficiency works to achieve water savings.

We work with Basin states and other stakeholders to consider each project proposal.

Review of project proposals

Each proposed project is subject to a period of public comment.

We will consider your feedback when we decide if proposals are eligible for funding as Water Efficiency Program projects.

Projects open for public comment are already assessed by the relevant Basin governments as meeting the additional socio-economic criteria.

Have your say

We will publish proposed projects here for public comment. Each project will be open to comment for 10 working days.
