How you had your say

We sought feedback from people and businesses across the organics sector on regulatory and non-regulatory options to reform Australia’s domestic organics framework.
This included:

  • Producers
  • Certifiers
  • Consumers
  • Exporters
  • Manufacturers
  • Wholesalers
  • Industry bodies
  • Governments and more.

Who engaged

We received 72 responses through our survey and 12 written submissions. One of these submissions is confidential.

This was part of a broader process of consultation to consider Australia's domestic organics framework which included:

  • Over 100 submissions to an online business survey, used to gather industry insights on the organics sector.
  • Over 500 responses to a targeted phone survey, used to gauge the number and nature of organics operators in Australia (including uncertified and smaller producers)
  • Over 1000 responses to an online consumer survey, used to collate existing consumer perspectives on organics, alongside their appetite towards changes to the regulatory framework
  • And over 100 businesses invited to industry roundtables, with 6 industry roundtables and multiple one-on-one meetings.
