The National Standard for Organic and Bio-dynamic Produce is Australia’s export standard for organic and bio-dynamic produce.

This page will be used for consulting with you on proposed amendments to the National Standard. It will also outline the outcomes of proposals.

Open consultations – provide your feedback

On 17 -18 October 2022, the National Standards Advisory Committee (NSAC) held its last meeting of 2022. Proposals that have been accepted to go to public comment will be placed on this page shortly.

The NSAC continue to identify sections of the National Standard for review and individual areas for further analysis.

The next meeting of the NSAC is scheduled for February 2023.

Industry feedback was sought on proposed amendments to the National Standard for Organic and Bio-dynamic Produce, relating to:

1.15 Livestock Breeds and Breeding (semen sexing in dairy cattle)

The National Standard provides the requirements for the labelling of goods which either state or imply they have been produced under organic or bio-dynamic systems. It includes requirements for production, processing, storage, transportation, labelling and importation of produce and aligns with the requirements of our international trading partners.
