How you had your say

We prepared a consultation paper on the proposed changes to the imported food safety requirements for dates, enoki mushrooms, melons, pufferfish and kava.

We released the paper on 2 October 2024 for public consultation, inviting feedback from importers, brokers, industry representatives and government in countries that export the relevant foods.

Feedback was given through an online survey, in written submissions and through targeted meetings. We have published a summary of responses to the consultation, outlining how stakeholder feedback has been considered.

What happens next

We have considered your feedback to inform the proposed changes to imported food requirements.
