How you had your say

We prepared a consultation paper on the proposed changes to the imported food safety requirements for dates, enoki mushrooms, melons, pufferfish and kava.

We released the paper on 2 October 2024 for public consultation, inviting feedback from importers, brokers, industry representatives, statutory authorities and competent authorities in countries that either import or export the relevant foods.

Feedback was given through an online survey, in written submissions and through targeted meetings.

What happens next

We are considering your feedback to inform the proposed changes to imported food requirements.
