We sought your feedback on a discussion paper to help identify ways to improve the National Environmental Biosecurity Response Agreement (NEBRA). We received nine responses to the survey. Visit our submissions page to read the permissioned responses to the NEBRA review 2026 discussion paper.
One submission was categorised as confidential or labelled to indicate it was not for publication by the submitter and has not been published.
In addition to the Have Your Say process, the independent consultant appointed to lead the review, Wild Matters Pty Ltd, undertook extensive consultations with a wide range of environmental stakeholders. Nine face-to-face, hybrid and online workshops were conducted with over 60 attendees from the Australian and each state and territory government. Thirteen online focus workshops were held with over 70 attendees from stakeholder groups including:
Local government
Environmental Biosecurity Advisory Group
NRM regions
First Nations organisations
Environmental organisations
Animal Health Australia
Plant Health Australia.
Wild Matters will now consider your feedback as they prepare a final report. The report will be provided to the National Biosecurity Committee and Australian Agriculture Ministers in mid-late 2026.
