Group pest risk analysis for mealybugs

We are conducting a group pest risk analysis for mealybugs and the viruses they transmit.

Mealybugs and the viruses they transmit can cause damage across a range of crops. They can reduce crop yield, quality and marketability.

We released a draft report on the group pest risk analysis for mealybugs and the viruses they transmit on fresh fruit, vegetable, cut-flower and foliage imports.

The consultation period closed on 27 November 2018.

We have now considered all comments and the group pest risk analysis is now finalised.

You can read the final group risk analysis report. The final group risk analysis report outlines the identified biosecurity risks, associated with mealybug pests, and proposed risk management measures.

This analysis is funded under the Australian Government’s Agricultural Competitiveness White Paper, the government’s plan to grow agriculture.
