Face to face meetings, online meetings, virtual broadcasts as well as discussion forums were undertaken to provide opportunities for all stakeholders to meet with the panel to discuss the phase out.

Gaining insights from New Zealand’s phase out of live animal exports
Confirming live cattle exports will not be phased out

Your feedback will be considered by the independent panel, who will prepare recommendations to inform how and when the government will phase out live sheep exports by sea.
The panel will present its recommendations to the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry by 30 September 2023.
