International sharing of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture

We are developing Australia’s position on proposed changes to the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. We will be discussing the changes at an international meeting in Italy later this year.

Our role is to ensure any changes are ultimately good for Australia’s agriculture, industry and research sectors, and those of our neighbouring regions.

We want to hear from you

You can now share your ideas on the proposed changes. Your input will help inform Australia’s position.

This online consultation is open to all Australian stakeholders. We are particularly seeking feedback from stakeholders who:

  • know the treaty and its Standard Material Transfer Agreement
  • work with, use or perform research on plant genetic resources.

How you can participate
