Public consultation on complex drought challenges facing Australian agriculture has closed.

50 submissions were received through our survey from people across Australia.

How you had your say

We sought feedback from people about the complex and multi-dimensional challenges caused by drought and climate impacts on Australian agriculture and agriculturally dependent communities.

We invited feedback from people across the agriculture sector.

This included:

  • Farmers and producers

  • Industry representatives

  • Landowners

  • State or territory government agencies

  • Research and academia

  • Not-for-profit organisations

What happens next

Your feedback will help to design the Future Drought Fund's (FDF) Innovation Challenges Pilot program. Feedback will be reviewed by an external committee of industry experts who will advise the department on the most pressing drought and climate challenges facing Australian agriculture and agriculturally dependent communities.

The Pilot program will fund innovative, sustainable and high-impact solutions for addressing the challenges that you have helped to identify.

The grant round is currently planned to open for submissions later this year.
