We considered all submissions when finalising the risk analysis.

Final report

You can read the final risk analysis report which was released on 15 August 2023 as well as our responses to stakeholder comments available in Appendix C.

The final report determined that the import of fresh dragon fruit from the Philippines can be permitted provided it meets our biosecurity import conditions.

Eight pests associated with dragon fruit are present in the Philippines and need risk management measures to reduce the risk to an acceptable level. A range of measures are recommended to reduce the risk of these pests arriving in Australia via the fresh dragon fruit pathway.
